The production uses original interviews, archival footage and classic songs to explore how a small parade of females fought gender bias across several decades to create some of the genre’s most significant recordings, including Tammy Wynette’s “Stand by Your Man,” Kitty Wells’ “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels” and Jeannie C. Riley’s “Harper Valley P.T.A.”

The project, co-produced by Transform Films and TH Entertainment, includes appearances by Connie Smith, Terri Clark, Pam Tillis and Trisha Yearwood, among others.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”60px”][vc_row_inner row_type=”row” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” css_animation=””][vc_column_inner][ult_createlink title=”CONTINUE READING” btn_link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.msn.com%2Fen-us%2Fmusic%2Fnews%2Fdolly-parton-loretta-lynn-and-more-iconic-women-of-country-music-to-be-celebrated-in-pbs-program%2Far-BB14GehG|target:_blank” link_hover_style=”Style_11″ text_color=”#ffffff” text_hovercolor=”#ffffff” background_color=”#f57c50″ bghovercolor=”#784c8e″ el_class=”nav-button” heading_style=”font-weight:bold;” css=”.vc_custom_1615271323704{padding-top: 10px !important;padding-right: 10px !important;padding-bottom: 10px !important;padding-left: 10px !important;}”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
